The balance of love: A Yin and Yang wedding in Boston
Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with my dear colleague Erica Jones on one of the most unique weddings I've ever experienced. In the heart of Boston, on the 33rd floor with a breathtaking view of the city, we combined our experience, ideas, and knowledge to create a truly enchanting event that was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The wedding was designed with a black-and-white theme, which was evident from the moment you stepped into the venue. Half of the dinner space was decorated in white, while the other half was in black, perfectly symbolizing the wedding’s main theme - Yin and Yang. This ancient Chinese symbol of balance and continuous change was at the heart of all our creative efforts.
Yin and Yang represent two opposing but complementary aspects of energy. They embody passive and active energy, light and darkness, as well as cold and warmth. Within each of these energies, there is always a small amount of the opposite energy, which is perfectly illustrated by the circle containing black and white shapes that complement each other. When Yin and Yang are in perfect balance, Tao is achieved - a state of harmony and unity.
This philosophy not only guided the design and decoration of the wedding but also deeply reflected the essence of the love between the two people who made their vows that day. Just as the seasons change, creating cycles of warmth and cold, love moves through different phases—from passion to tenderness, from excitement to calm.
Working alongside Erica to create this unique experience was a true pleasure. Her creativity and professionalism greatly contributed to the success of the event, and together, we were able to craft an unforgettable atmosphere that fully embodied the symbolism of Yin and Yang.
With its stunning views and meaningful symbolism, Boston was the perfect place for such a wedding. It was an experience I will cherish for a long time - not just because of the beauty of the event itself, but also because of the joy of working with my dear friend and colleague Erica. Together, we once again proved how perfectly our ideas, knowledge, and experience complement each other, just like Yin and Yang.
Below, you can find a few photos from this beautiful wedding, which best capture all the details of this magical story.
